I just joined Windermere from John L. Scott 2 weeks ago. I came across your blog today, I see the latest post was a year ago. However, I am wondering if Windermere will be offering agents a way to link their Windermere website to various social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Good Morning ... Steve Curtis here from Walnut Creek CA. Just checking out your company's blog focused website and saw your blog. Well done and very true. You should blog more often. You have great insights.

You bring up a good point that is true with all marketing in any industry. . . .those who don't recognize where to find new business, and how to use the newest strategies and communication channels effectively, without "crashing the party", will ultimately lose their position as a professional in their market.
Social networking must be respected as a new channel. . .agents just need to learn how to play in this new "sandbox" with the proper manners.

Great thoughts. I am really wondering why some people waste their time worrying about throwing food around, sharing listings (now my pet peeve,I don't go to FaceBook to see more real estate, sorry), Mafia Wars and a few other real time wasters. I too have just discovered the Hide option for certain applications as well as some of the most annoying seem to have biggest images! I don't become Friends with my clients so I don't have to be quite so self conscious about writing to some of my friends and relatives but I like your suggestion about creating the business page instead. Obviously, FaceBook serves different purposes for different people and it is amazing the sharing and things we learn about each other because of it.

Great article, Justin! So glad to have found your blog. Re #4, Windermere agents should definitely be using their Facts & Trends graphs to show their connections what's going on in the local market. The "Save Graph" function makes it easy to do that but we're also releasing a widget that will help you post automatically-updating graphs to websites soon too!
